Applying Behaviors
Behaviors alter the look and feel of the beginning, middle, or end of Media Assets.
To Add Behaviors to Media:
- With clips added to the Timeline, select the Behaviors panel.
- Select a Behavior and drag it over a clip on the Timeline. The symbol that displays over your media clip represents if the Behavior is In, During, or Out.

For a Behavior that stylizes the entrance of a Media Asset, select from the In tab at the top of the Behaviors section. Applied Behaviors from the In tab are indicated on a clip using the adjacent circle icon combination. |

For a Behavior that occurs during the run time of a Media Asset, select from the During tab. Applied Behaviors from the During tab are indicated on a clip using the adjacent circle icon combination. |

For a Behavior that stylizes the exit of a Media Asset, select from the Out tab. Applied Behaviors from the Out tab are indicated on a clip using the adjacent circle icon combination. |
To Remove Behaviors from Media:
To remove Behaviors from a Clip, right click on the Media Clip and select Remove All Behaviors.
This will reset In, During, and Out styles back to the default of None.
Behavior Settings
Adjust the Properties for each Behavior applied to Media Assets.
To Adjust Behavior Settings:
- Display the properties of a Behavior by selecting the clip with the Behavior applied to it on the Timeline. The properties will display in the Properties Panel.
- In the Properties Panel, select Behaviors, then adjust the Behavior settings as described below.
Types of Behavior:
- In: Defines how the clip enters the frame
- Out: Defines how the clip exits the frame.
- During: Defines how the clip animates while it is on screen.
Style Options:
Each behavior can be customized using a variety of prebuilt motion styles, such as:
- Boom In
- Bounce Near and Zoom In
- Drop In
- Horizontal Expand In
- Vertical Expand In
- Fade Slide In (Bottom, Left, Right, Top)
- Fibonacci Spiral In
- Fly In
- Fly to Zoom In
- Heart Fly In
- Metronome In
- Strengthen
- Stretch In and Zoom In
Movement Options:
Each behavior's motion can also be refined using movement curves, which define the acceleration and deceleration of the animation:
- Bounce
- Linear
- Spring
- Ease In, Out, Both (with the following easing functions available):
- Sine
- Quad
- Cubic
- Quart
- Quint
- Expo
- Circ
- Back
- Elastic
These movement options allow for fine control over the timing and feel of the behavior, from smooth to exaggerated motion.
Speed Options:
Each In or Out Behavior can have its speed adjusted by moving the Speed bar left or right. Adjusting further to the right will increase the speed making the behavior faster, while adjusting further to the left will decrease the speed making the behavior slower.
Looping Options:
Each During Behavior can be set to loop. You can set the length of the loop, and how many times it loops, including the ability to set it to loop forever.
