Setting the Rulers and Guidelines Options

You can use the Options dialog box to configure settings for rulers and guidelines in Edit mode.

To Set the Rulers and Guidelines Options:

  1. In any mode, click Tools | Options...
  2. In the Options dialog box, click Edit Mode | Rulers and Guidelines.
  3. Set the options as described below.
  4. Click OK to apply your changes and return to ACDSee.

Guidelines

Color

Select a color for your guidelines.

Rulers

DPI

Determines the ruler scale by dividing the layer's pixel value by dots per inch.

Load resolution from EXIF metadata

Uses the value in the Pixels Per Inch field of the Image Attributes section located on the File tab of the Properties pane.

DPI field does not dynamically update according to the DPI in your layer's EXIF metadata. However, when this checkbox is checked, the EXIF metadata value will override the value in the DPI field.

Units

Select a unit of measure for your rulers:

  • Inches
  • Centimeters
  • Pixels
  • Percent
